Team USA Shines at the 2025 Volt Hockey World Cup in Sweden

We’re still buzzing from an unforgettable weekend at the 2025 Volt Hockey World Cup, held September 6–7, 2025, in Gävle, Sweden! Representing the United States were our two home teams—the Boston Whiplash and the Rolling Warriors—who brought grit, heart, and huge growth from the first faceoff to the final buzzer.

A Tournament to Remember

From start to finish, the World Cup was electric. Both teams fought hard against elite international competition, each finishing the tournament with one win and four losses—a remarkable showing for their first world-stage appearance. The Boston Whiplash capped their run with a dramatic penalty shootout that had everyone on the edge of their seats, showcasing the skill and intensity of volt hockey at its best.

Community Across Borders

One of the most inspiring parts of the event was the camaraderie among teams from around the world. We loved cheering on our Canadian friends from Alberta and Barrie and sharing the court with players from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, with 23 teams in attendance. Special thanks to Anders and Martin from Norway’s elite BVH Lions for donning USA jerseys, helping coach our athletes, and pushing everyone to play their best.
