The United States Volt Hockey Association had an incredible week at the 2026 Move United Education Conference on Cape Cod, marking our first time attending this national gathering of adaptive sports leaders from across the country.

We kicked things off in memorable fashion. Marley (President) and Avery (Vice President) started day one by checking out the Scottish Highland Games on the beach, which set the tone for what would be a packed and energizing week. From there, it was full steam ahead into several days chockablock with learning, collaboration, and connection with organizations all working toward expanding access to adaptive sports and recreation.

A major highlight of the week was leading our hands-on volt hockey workshop. We introduced attendees to the sport, sharing its history and core rules before giving participants the opportunity to get behind the chairs and experience the game firsthand. Watching people try volt hockey for the first time never gets old. It is one of the most powerful ways to show what makes this sport so unique: the speed, the strategy, and the level playing field it creates for athletes with a wide range of disabilities.

Beyond our own session, the conference gave us the chance to explore and participate in other adaptive sports. Avery joined in on an amputee soccer match, while Marley tested out the Tetra Ski using muscle sensors and even got a chance to play boccia. These experiences reinforced just how innovative and diverse the adaptive sports landscape has become.

More than anything, this week was about the people. We connected with so many passionate individuals and organizations doing meaningful work in their communities. Being surrounded by others who are equally committed to inclusion, access, and opportunity was both motivating and energizing.

We are incredibly grateful to Move United for creating a space that brings this community together and for providing a platform to share volt hockey with a national audience.

We are heading home inspired, re-energized, and excited for what lies ahead as we continue working to grow volt hockey across the United States. And we are already looking forward to reconnecting with this amazing community at next year’s conference in Michigan!
