This past weekend, members of our East Coast volt hockey crew swapped the Atlantic for the Pacific and headed to Anaheim, California, to join the annual Cure SMA Conference—right in the heart of Disneyland!
Sharing Volt Hockey with a Packed House
We were honored to participate in the Adaptive Sports Workshop, generously sponsored by Novartis, where more than 150 attendees packed the tent—over double last year’s turnout. The crowd’s energy was incredible, and the interest in adaptive sports like volt hockey, alongside power soccer and wheelchair basketball, was off the charts.
Connections Across the Globe
We loved meeting so many new people eager to learn about volt hockey—including a surprise guest from Norway who once played the sport! Conversations like these remind us how universal the love of sport truly is.
Teamwork Behind the Scenes
A huge shoutout goes to Marley Robinson’s dad, who drove cross-country with a volt hockey chair so attendees could see the equipment up close. And an extra thank-you to the Farrell family, who jumped right in to help demo the chair and show how the game is played.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
We’re grateful to Cure SMA, our fellow panelists, and everyone who came to the workshop for their enthusiasm and strong support of adaptive sports. Events like this help grow awareness and bring volt hockey closer to families and athletes across the United States.
The future of volt hockey is bright—and we can’t wait to welcome new players and families we met in Anaheim to the court soon! ⚡🏒
