ADED’s 50th Annual Conference & Expo

The USVHA snuck in one last trip before our 2026 Volt Hockey Training Clinic, heading to Richmond, Virginia for ADED’s 50th Annual Conference & Expo!
ADED, the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists, brings together professionals working in driver rehabilitation, adaptive driving, mobility equipment, and accessible transportation. With so many people in one place who are passionate about helping people with disabilities stay mobile and independent, it seemed like a pretty fitting crowd to introduce to volt hockey.
And, naturally, we had to get them in the driver’s seat of a volt hockey chair!
Throughout the conference, attendees had the chance to hop into a chair, get behind the joystick, and experience the sport for themselves. It was a great opportunity to introduce volt hockey to professionals from across the driver rehabilitation and adaptive mobility world, many of whom work every day with people who could benefit from accessible recreation and adaptive sports.
The connection with ADED actually came about in a particularly fitting way. USVHA President Marley Robinson was being evaluated for her own accessible van when a conversation about volt hockey led to an invitation for the USVHA to demonstrate the sport at the conference.
We’re grateful to ADED for welcoming us to Richmond and to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and gave volt hockey a try. We always love getting new people involved, especially when it helps introduce the sport to professionals who are already deeply connected to the disability and mobility communities.
With Richmond wrapped up, it’s back to Boston for our next stop: the 2026 Volt Hockey Training Clinic!
