Boston Whiplash Earn Bronze at the 2025 Malmö Open

Updated: Sep 12

Malmö, Sweden – February 2025

The Boston Whiplash made their mark on the international stage, bringing home the bronze medal in Division C at the renowned Malmö Open, one of the world’s largest parasport events!

An Unforgettable International Experience

The team arrived eager to compete—and to soak in the global celebration of adaptive athletics. Before their own matches began, the Whiplash packed a “sports marathon” into a single day, taking in goalball, para ice hockey (sled hockey), table tennis, billiards, and wheelchair basketball—just a fraction of the dozens of sports showcased at the tournament.

Strong Play and Lasting Connections

Once the puck dropped, Boston battled fiercely against elite international squads, ultimately securing third place and a bronze medal finish. Off the court, players explored Malmö’s vibrant cityscape, visited an aquarium housed inside a historic castle, and reconnected with volt hockey friends from across Scandinavia and Canada. The trip was as much about cultural exchange and camaraderie as it was about competition.

Looking Ahead

A huge thank-you to the Malmö Open organizers for hosting an incredible event and welcoming our athletes with open arms. We’re already counting down the days until 2026, when we plan to return for more unforgettable matches and memories.
