The USVHA had an incredible time last week attending the Reeve Summit in Boston hosted by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. The summit brought together an amazing community of organizations, advocates, athletes, and leaders all working toward the shared goal of improving and supporting the lives of people with spinal cord injuries.
Throughout the event, we had the chance to reconnect with old friends, make new connections, and learn from so many people doing impactful work across the spinal cord injury and broader disability community. It was especially great spending time with organizations like Tribal Adaptive and Precision Neuroscience, along with many others who share a passion for increasing access, inclusion, and opportunity. Watch out world… we may have a New Mexico volt hockey team on our hands soon 😉
One of the highlights of the summit was being able to bring one of our volt hockey chairs to the event. The chair was made possible through a Quality of Life Grant awarded to the USVHA by the Reeve Foundation last year, making it especially meaningful to showcase the direct impact of that support while introducing more people to the sport of volt hockey.
Events like the Reeve Summit are a powerful reminder of how much can happen when organizations come together to collaborate, share ideas, and support one another. We left Boston feeling energized, inspired, and excited for what’s ahead as we continue working to grow volt hockey and expand opportunities for disabled athletes across the United States. ⚡🏒
